THE PROTOTHRACIAN PORTRAIT (prehistorical ceramics from eneolith-neolith-culture “Maritsa”) is a permanent exposition in the Cultural Centre-Museum TRAKART.
The prehistorical vessels with their geometrical ornamental decoration are a testimony for rich spiritual traditions and unique technical skills of the first settlers on the territory of this town. At the exposition one can see ceramic ritual small tables and chairs figures of the Mother Goddess, vessels for storing wheat and wine, instruments for everyday usage.
The decoration on the ceramic vessels is mainly geometrical. The polychromy on the vessels is achieved through different techniques using the graphite, ruddle, white clay, engraved drawing and polishing.
